What a warehouse is
A warehouse (some companies say godown or store) is anywhere you keep stock. Penahak counts stock per warehouse: a product has one balance in the shop and another in the back store. A Stock Transfer moves stock from one to another (Move stock between warehouses with a stock transfer).
Penahak uses the screen name Warehouse. Menus and older documents may say Godown: it is the same thing.
Add a warehouse
Open Warehouse (menu Inventory Setup › Warehouse, usual label) and choose Add. The form is Add Warehouse:

The Warehouse page
Click a warehouse in the list to open its page: No of products, Total product value, the weekly sales and purchases from it and a table of its products with their stock (Reading stock by warehouse).
Change or remove
- Edit changes any field. A warehouse that already has stock entries cannot be moved to another branch: the stock would then belong to the wrong branch.
- Delete works only for a warehouse nothing refers to. One that has stock, documents, mapped users or mapped products cannot be deleted: the screen says the record is in use. Switch it off instead.
- The list also offers Delete all, Active all, Deactivate all and Export for ticked rows.
Common questions
I cannot save the warehouse: it says the default already exists.
Another warehouse of the same branch is already the default. Switch that one off first.
I cannot change the branch.
The warehouse has stock entries in its present branch. Make a new warehouse for the other branch and move the stock with a branch transfer (Send stock to another branch).
I cannot delete a warehouse that has nothing in it.
Users or products may still be mapped to it. Remove them from the User field and the Warehouse mapping tab, then try again; or switch it off.
