Retail POS

Touch-first point of sale with a modern UI, hardware printing and a cashier shift model that ends in a real cash handover — not a guess.

The problem

A counter that keeps selling, then reconciles to the rupee.

A till that is fast but unaccountable costs you money quietly. A till that is accountable but slow costs you customers. Penahak POS is built to be quick at the counter and reconcilable at the end of the shift, with the variance attributable to a named cashier on a named terminal.

Who uses it

  • Cashiers, who need speed, barcode scanning and split payments
  • Shift supervisors, who open and close shifts and handle cash handover
  • Store managers, who watch margin, schemes and variance
How it works

The workflows you will actually use

Not a feature list — the sequences your team runs day to day.

A shift, end to end

  1. Cashier signs in at their registered terminal and enters the opening float.
  2. Sales, returns and petty cash all record against the open shift.
  3. At close, the cashier declares the counted cash.
  4. Penahak compares it to expected cash and records any variance.
  5. Cash is handed over, and the handover is its own document.

Selling with a split payment

  1. Scan or browse items into the cart.
  2. Apply the customer, so loyalty and pricing apply.
  3. Take part cash, part card or QR — each tender settles to its own ledger.
  4. Print the receipt from the local bridge to the thermal printer.

Taking goods back

  1. Look up the original invoice.
  2. Choose return (money back) or replacement (exchange).
  3. Saleable goods return to stock; damaged goods go to quarantine.
  4. A credit note is raised and any loyalty earned on the original is reversed.

Connected, not integrated

What it shares with the rest of the platform

These are not integrations between separate products. They are modules on one ledger, one party master and one product catalogue.

Inventory

Stock and cost move as each stocked item is sold.

Accounting

Sales, refunds and shift cash post with their settlement ledgers.

CRM

Counter customers are the same party records CRM and accounting use.

Platform

Receipts print through the local bridge, so a printer fault does not stop the sale.

Every module posts into one ledgerEight Penahak modules arranged around a central accounting ledger. Each module sends source documents inward to the ledger, and the ledger feeds a single reporting layer. Questions

About Retail POS

The desktop build keeps printing from the local bridge and queues durable print jobs, so service continues. Posting resumes when connectivity returns, and idempotency keys prevent duplicates.

Yes. Discounts above a threshold, voids and price overrides can each require an approver, and all of them are logged with a reason.
