Cash Bank Summary

Open Cash Bank Summary (menu Cash Bank Summary). Choose a From date and To date, a Branch, a Project/Business Unit if you use them, the Cash/Bank ledger and Group by:

  • Date: each day's receipts and payments one after another, with the voucher number, ledger and party, the Receipt amount, the Payment amount and a total for the period.
  • Ledger: one block for each cash or bank account, with its opening amount, the receipts and payments in order and the running balance.

Use Ledger to see what one bank account did in a month; use Date to check a day.

Cash Bank Details

Open Cash Bank Details. Choose the dates, the Party and Branch and Group by (Date, Agent, Area or Party). The report lists each party with the ledger, the Debit amt and the Credit amt of the cash and bank vouchers and a grand total. Use it to see who paid you or whom you paid through cash and bank.

Day Book

Open Day Book (menu Day Book). Choose the dates, a Branch, Group by, and optionally a Module (a kind of voucher), a Ledger and four switches:

SwitchEffect
With narration ?Each voucher line shows its narration
Cash and Bank only ?Only vouchers that touch a cash or bank account
Cash only ?Only vouchers that touch a cash account
With petty cash?Includes petty cash vouchers

The day book lists every voucher of each day, with the ledger, the Debit and the Credit of each line and a total for the day. It also shows the cash you opened and closed with, worked out from your cash accounts. Without Cash and Bank only ? the day book shows all vouchers, including sales and purchases.

Journal Book

Open Journal Book. It lists journal vouchers and you can filter it by From date, Voucher no, Project/Business Unit, Ledger, Dr amount, Cr amount and Branch. Use it to review the adjustments entered in a period (Make adjustments with a journal voucher). It needs the right to see basic account reports.

Common questions

My cash balance in the day book is not what is in the till.

Check Cash only ?, the dates and the branch. A provisional cash entry that has not been deposited, or a cheque that has not been deposited, is not in the books yet (Record cash you have not banked yet, Record and deposit cheques).

A voucher I entered is missing.

It is waiting for approval, it is on another branch or date, or it is not a cash or bank voucher while Cash and Bank only ? is on.

How do I see a bank account for one month?

Cash Bank Summary, Group by Ledger, choose the bank account and the dates.

The two reports show different totals for the same day.

Cash Bank Summary shows cash and bank vouchers only; the day book shows every voucher unless you switch on Cash and Bank only ?.
