Using them
- To check that production was recorded, open Production details and compare with the journals' status: only Approved journals changed stock (Production journal: record production and approve it).
- To see what finished goods cost, open Produced goods costing details: the Production cost divided by the quantity is the rate the stock came in at (What production changes in stock and in the books).
- To see raw material usage against the recipe, open Raw Material Consumption and compare with the BOM.
- To see rejects, open Production approved and rejected products details.
In the stock reports, production appears as Production in and Production out on the Stock Analysis Report (Stock Analysis Report).
Common questions
A journal is in Production details but not in the stock report.
It is not approved. Approve it.
The costing report shows a different rate from the stock.
The stock value of raw materials is re-priced first in, first out when values are worked out; the costing report shows the cost taken at the journal (How stock is valued and what a sale costs).
