The grid invoice saves the same voucher as the standard Raise a sales invoice: same numbering, same effects on the books and stock, same IRD, cancel, return and receipt behaviour. What differs is how you enter the lines: a grid with one row per line, where you choose the Store, the product and the quantity in the row and move between cells with the keyboard.
For a company that sells books, the rows also carry Product Group, Book Level and Book Edition to find the right title quickly. Other companies do not see those three columns.
For each row choose the Store, then the product, then the quantity and rate. Free quantity and alternative units are in the row too.
Needs
A store on every row. The messages "Please select a store first", "Please select a product group first", "Please select a book level first" and "Please select a book edition first" say which cell is missing.
Does the grid invoice check the customer's credit limit?
Not with a check of its own: it fills the Due day from the customer's credit days, but tests neither the amount limit nor the day limit. Where your company has credit approval switched on, the save can still show a Credit blocked or Credit warning box. Use the standard invoice for a customer whose limits must be checked (Credit limit and credit days on sales screens).
