Import receipts, payments, contra and journals from a spreadsheet
When there are many vouchers to enter, fill the template spreadsheet and import it. The screen shows every row, marks the ones in error, and saves nothing until each voucher balances. Each voucher is saved as if typed by hand.
The Receipt voucher, Payment voucher, Contra voucher and Journal voucher screens each have Import next to Add. Choose Import, and if your company has more than one series, choose the series the new vouchers should use.

What changes
A spreadsheet with the columns the screen expects. Receipts, payments and contra share one template; journals have their own.
2
Fill it
What changes
One row per ledger. Rows of the same voucher share the Date and Voucher no (your own number: it becomes the voucher's reference). Each row has the Ledger, an optional Sub ledger, the Amount and the Amount type (debitD or credit C).
Needs
Each voucher must balance. For a payment: exactly one credit row (the account the money left) and one or more debit rows (the ledgers paid). For a receipt: exactly one debit row (the account the money went into) and one or more credit rows. For a journal: the debits equal the credits.

Upload it

Import > Upload, choose the .xlsx file
What changes
The rows appear in a grid, each voucher in its own colour. A problem in the header (a missing column) is listed instead of the rows. Rows in error are marked: "Data not imported, Please see error list". Delete a row in error, or correct the spreadsheet and upload again.
4
Save
What changes
Each voucher is saved in turn, with the series you chose, the local currency and the date on its rows. "Data import completed successfully."
