A day as store keeper

Check what is low and what is in transit, receive and issue goods, move stock between warehouses, write off damage with a reason, and count a section of the stock each week so the books and the shelves agree.

For Store keeper

  1. See what is low

Open Stock status for the day and look at the products at or below their Minimum stock. Tell the purchase clerk what to order (Stock status, Minimum, maximum and reorder levels).

  2. Goods on the road

Start a Branch Stock IN on Stock Transfer: its Transfer no list shows the branch stock outs sent to your branch and not yet received. Receive what has arrived (Send stock to another branch).

  3. Receive goods

Check the delivery against the supplier's paper, then the purchase clerk enters the Goods received note. Check that the quantity and the warehouse are right (Receive goods with a goods received note). Products that need batches or serial numbers need them entered now (Batch, expiry date and serial number tracking).

  4. Issue goods for delivery

A Goods delivery note takes the goods out for a customer before the invoice. Check the warehouse on each line (Deliver goods with a goods delivery note, Which warehouse a document line uses).

  5. Move stock

A Stock Transfer from the store to the shop floor, or between warehouses. Keep the proposed Rate (Move stock between warehouses with a stock transfer).

  6. Write off or correct

A Stock adjustment for damaged, broken or expired goods, with the right Adjustment reason (Adjust stock: counts, damage, expiry and write-offs).

  7. A product is missing on the screen

Check that it is not locked, that it is for the right side (sales or purchase) and that the warehouse's product list includes it (Why a product is not offered on a document).

  8. Count a section

Count one shelf or one warehouse against the Stock summary and enter the differences as adjustments (Count the stock and correct the differences).

  9. Old stock

Look at the Product aging report for slow movers and tell the manager (Product aging report).

  10. Count and report

Count the fast-moving products, adjust, and hand the Stock summary with value to the accountant (Stock summary, Stock valuation: what your stock is worth).

  11. Full count

Count every warehouse, enter the adjustments inside the year, and sign the count sheet (Count the stock and correct the differences, Closing stock in the profit and loss, the balance sheet and the year end).
