What it shows
Open TDS report. For each journal voucher line that booked TDS (Deduct TDS when you book or pay an expense) it shows the Revenue code, the party's PAN, the Party, the Date, the Voucher no, the TDS Name, the TDS Ledger, the Taxable amount, the Receivable Amount (the supplier's net amount), the TDS amount and the Percentage.
Only the TDS booked with the TDS fields of a journal voucher is in it. TDS you typed as a TDS amount on a payment or receipt voucher is not (Deduct TDS when you book or pay an expense).
Run it
- Choose the filters
- Read, print or export
Use the Revenue Code grouping to see how much TDS you must pay for each revenue code, and the Party Name grouping to see how much you held back from each supplier.
Check it against the books
The total TDS amount for the period should equal what was credited to the TDS payable ledger by the journal vouchers. Compare it with the ledger report of the TDS payable ledger for the same dates (Check the books with trial balance and ledger reports). A difference means TDS was booked another way, or the report's party or branch filter is narrowing it.
Common questions
A TDS payment I made is not in the report.
The report lists TDS deducted, from journal vouchers. The payment of TDS to the tax office is an ordinary payment voucher.
The report is empty.
Check the dates, the branch and the party. Only journal vouchers that used the TDS fields and a TDS master are listed.
A line appears twice.
Two TDS masters share the same payable ledger. Give each master its own ledger (Set up TDS).
Does the report include TDS on customers' payments to me?
No. It only reads the journal vouchers described above.
