What a quotation is
A sales quotation is a price offer. It names the customer, the products, quantities and rates, any adjustments such as VAT and discount, and the date until which the offer stands. It does not touch the customer's account, the sales income or the stock.
Open Sales quotation (menu Quotation). The list shows the quotation number, date, customer, amount, expiry date and Status: Not used, Used on order or Expired.

Common questions
Is the customer's credit limit checked on a quotation?
Not the amount limit: a quotation does not hold the customer to it. Only the due days on the quotation can be warned about or blocked, by the customer's day rule (Credit limit and credit days on sales screens).
Does the IRD receive quotations?
No. Only invoices, sales returns, cancelled invoices and reversed returns are sent (What IRD-ready means).
