What it shows
Open Serial no Item Details (menu Inventory Reports › Serial Number Wise Item Details, usual label). Choose the Report type and the filters. Each line is one unit of a serial-number product:
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Serial number, Product | The unit |
| Stock entry date, In voucher | The date and the document that brought it in (a goods received note, an invoice, an opening) |
| Stock exit date, Stock exit voucher | The date and the document that took it out. Empty while it is still in stock |
| Party name, Customer | The supplier it came from and the customer it went to |
| Warranty date, Ins. Expiry date | Warranty and insurance dates, where the product has them |
| Chassis no, Engine no, Model no, Color, Vehicle no, Number plate | For vehicle-type products |
A unit with an empty Stock exit voucher is in stock; one with a value has been sold, delivered or returned to the supplier.
Use it for
- Is this unit still here? Search the serial number: no exit voucher means yes.
- Who bought this unit? The Customer column.
- A warranty claim. The Warranty date and the Stock exit date.
Common questions
A number I sold still shows no exit.
The sale did not name the number: serial products ask for the number on the invoice or delivery note. Edit the document and enter it.
A number appears twice.
It came in twice (a purchase and a return from a customer): read both lines.
