From the customer's page
Open Customer, then a customer. The page is titled Customer - name and has:
| Tab | Shows |
|---|---|
| Ledger details | The customer's Quotation, Order, GDN, Invoice, Return and Transactions (receipts), each as a list |
| Due status | The unpaid invoices with the Transaction amount, Adjusted, Balance, Due date, Due day and the Cumulative due, as of a date you choose. There is also a Due status (Voucher wise) view |
| Comments | Notes on the customer |
The customer list also shows each customer's Balance. The Due status tab matches money to the oldest invoice first, so it can differ from the invoice list: What clears what in the customer's account.
Party Ledger Summary
The Party Ledger Summary lists every customer (or any party) for a period, with:
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Opening debit, Opening credit | What the party owed, or was owed, when the period started |
| Periodic debit, Periodic credit | The invoices and returns (debit and credit) and the receipts in the period |
| Balance debit, Balance credit | The result at the end of the period |
Filters are From date, Agent, Area, Party and Account group. A customer who owes you has a Balance debit.
A printable statement
Customer / Vendor Ledger (menu Customer / Vendor Ledger) is a form: From date, To date, Branch, the report category and the Group by choice, the customers to include and the report type, with a With PDC option to include post-dated cheques. It gives a statement you can print.
Reading a statement
- A debit is something the customer owes: an invoice. A credit is something that reduces it: a receipt or a return.
- The balance is the running difference. It is the same number as on the customer list.
- Money received as an advance is a credit on the statement even though no invoice is marked paid.
