Advice
- One bank ledger for each card machine or wallet. A card, a wallet and a QR are all Bank/Wallet Payment at the till; the books tell them apart only by the bank ledger. Give each its own ledger and tell the cashiers which to pick.
- A branch cash ledger keeps each shop's cash apart from the head office's: set Cash ledger on the branch (Configuration settings the till uses).
- The gift card ledger is a liability account (the value of cards sold and not yet spent). It is credited when a card is sold and debited when it is spent.
- The walk-in account collects every walk-in bill; it shows a zero balance when every bill was paid in full.
Common questions
Cash from two shops is mixed in one cash account.
Set Cash ledger on each branch.
The card payments show under the cash account.
The cashier took the payment with Cash, not Bank/Wallet Payment, or the bank chosen is a cash ledger.
I need a different sales account for one product.
Set the product's own sales ledger on the product; the default Sales ledger is used for the rest.
