Sell on credit to a named customer

A named customer who is not marked Cash selling can leave all or part of a bill unpaid. The cashier confirms by typing Credit, and the balance stays on the customer's account until a receipt is made in Accounting.

What the customer owes afterwards

The whole total is on the customer's account, and what was paid now clears part of it. The rest shows as Unpaid or Partial on the invoice in Penahak Accounting. The customer pays later: the accountant makes a receipt against the invoice (Receive money from a customer in Accounting). The invoice is due on the day it is made.

What happens when you save a credit sale
AreaChange
Invoice and IRDOne sales invoice for the whole total, sent to the IRD like any bill when the company follows the IRD rules
CustomerThe total goes on the customer's account; what was paid now clears part of it. The invoice is due the same day
Cash and bankOnly what was paid now becomes a receipt (When the payments reach the books)
StockThe goods leave stock at once
ApprovalNone at the till beyond the typed word Credit. With CRM credit control, a bill over the customer's credit is refused until a credit controller releases it

Common questions

The credit window does not appear and the screen says to pay in full.

The customer is a cash selling customer, or no customer is chosen.

The customer is blocked.

With CRM on the customer is over the credit limit or on hold. Take payment now, or a credit controller releases the credit and you save again.

Can the customer pay the balance at the till?

Not on this screen. The accountant records the receipt in Accounting.

Does the customer get 30 days to pay?

Not at the till. The invoice is due on the day it is made, whatever credit days the customer has in Accounting. The accountant follows up the unpaid balance.

Does the till check the customer's credit limit?

No. The only check at the till is the word Credit that the cashier types. A company that uses CRM credit control also has the bill checked against the customer's credit, and a bill over it is refused until a credit controller releases it.

Can a walk-in buy on credit?

No. A walk-in must pay in full: choose or register the customer first (Walk-in, named and new customers).
