When something is refused or does not work

A refusal records nothing and says what to do. Read it, fix the cause it names, and do the action again.

Read the message

When a Restaurant POS screen cannot do something, it says why, and nothing is recorded: no bill, no invoice, no half-finished change. The message names what is missing and, where it can, the screen that fixes it (usually something in Accounting). Fix that, then do the action again.

All messages and what to do: Messages you may see. Problems by what you see: Problems by symptom.

The usual causes

You seeUsually
Orders cannot be sent: "No cash shift open"Your cash shift is not open: Open and close the cash shift
A bill is refusedBill numbering, the default bank or the bill terms in Accounting are not set for today: VAT, service charge, discounts and bill numbers, Payment methods, banks, QR and the store
A dish is missing or cannot be addedThe product is not on the menu, or it is marked unavailable: The menu: dishes and drinks are products
A ticket did not printThe station's printer route, or the printer: Printers for kitchen tickets and bills
No Bill buttonThe role may not bill: Staff: users, roles, waiters and the secret key
A void cannot be doneThe dish is already done, or the secret key is asked: Void an item
A table shows the wrong statusA check is still open, or the merge was done on another device: Open a table and start a check, Move a party to another table, or merge tables

Most of these are setup that was never finished: Before the first order: the setup checklist.

When the message does not help

Take a screenshot of the whole screen, with the message, and note what you were doing (the table, the bill number, the time). Send it to the person who supports Penahak for your restaurant. When the message says nothing was recorded, you can try again once the cause is fixed.
