For HR officer Administrator

The idea

Leave setup has two lists, both on Leave management setting (Attendance › Leave management), tab Leave:

ListWhat you enter
Leave typeThe Leave type name, its Leave code, its Leave mode (paid or unpaid), whether it is Compensatory, and Notes
Leave ruleFor one attendance year and one Job type: the Leave type, the No of days, and whether it Is accumulated
  1. Add the leave types
    Who
    HR officer
    Where
Leave › Leave type › Add
    What changes
For example Annual leave (paid), Sick leave (paid), Unpaid leave (unpaid). A Compensatory type must be paid: the screen says "Compensatory leave type must be paid type." A name that is already used is refused.
  2. Add the rules for the year
    Where
Leave › Leave rule › Add, or Leave setting (bulk) to set many job types at once
    What changes
Choose the Fiscal year (attendance year), the Job type and the Leave type, and enter No of days. Tick Is accumulated if unused days should carry into the next year. The bulk form refuses rows set to 0: "Some of the selected leave records are set to 0 ."
  3. Check the total
    What changes
The days of all rules of one job type cannot add up to more than the days in the year.

Unpaid leave types need no balance: each approved day is taken off salary (Absence, unpaid leave and attendance in payroll).

Common questions

Can two job types have different days of the same leave type?

Yes. A rule is for one attendance year, one job type and one leave type. Add a rule for each job type, for example 12 days for "Staff" and 15 days for "Manager".
