Rate plans
Set in Hospitality configuration › Rate plans: Code, Name, Meal plan, the Cancellation policy it carries, a Deposit policy code, and Active.

The rate calendar
Inventory & rates (and Hospitality configuration › Rate calendar) shows availability and the rate per room type, rate plan and night. Where the calendar has no rate, the room type's Default rate is used.
Bulk update rates and restrictions changes many nights at once: the room types, the Stay dates, the Days of the week (every day, Sun-Thu, Fri-Sat), and Adjust rate by (set to, ± amount, ± %).

Prices are quoted from the calendar when a booking is saved; a booking keeps the price agreed for its nights unless it is priced again.
Cancellation policies
Hospitality configuration › Cancellation policies: Code, Name, Free until (hours before arrival), Then charge (nothing, first night, percent, fixed), Charge a no-show, Deposit and Due (days before arrival), and the Policy text printed on confirmations. Rate plans refer to the policy by its code.
Segments, sources and channels
Market segments and Sources of business classify bookings for the statistics. Channels lists who sells your rooms and what each brings in. As the Channels screen says, rates, availability and restrictions set here are not sent to any channel: update each channel's extranet by hand and enter its bookings as reservations with the channel's source of business.
Common questions
A bulk update says "The change would take the rate of (date) below zero."
The change you chose lowers a rate beyond zero for that date. Use a smaller change.
It says "On (date) the maximum stay would be shorter than the minimum stay."
The Min nights and Max nights you chose do not fit each other for that date. Correct the limits.
Does the hotel send rates to the channels that sell its rooms?
No. Rates, availability and restrictions are not sent to any channel: update each channel's own extranet by hand and enter its bookings as reservations with the channel's source of business.
