What a package is

A package is a room bundle: for example two nights with breakfast, one dinner and an airport transfer. Open Packages to build one:

  • Components: what is included (a meal, a spa treatment, a transfer), each with its charge, how many are Given, whether Per guest or per stay, and how it is Shown as to the guest;
  • Price: worked out by the system per night, with tax;
  • Rate plans that sell it: a package is sold through rate plans, not on its own;
  • Availability: when it can be sold (stay dates, minimum nights, capacity, channels).

At the restaurant and on the bill

When the guest uses an included meal, the restaurant check takes it from the package: only the rest is charged (see Restaurant checks charged to a room or event). Items included in a package go on the invoice at zero, so any stock they use still leaves the store.

Common questions

Can I sell a package on its own?

No. A package is sold through rate plans, not on its own.

Where does the front desk choose a package?

At booking, through the rate plans that sell it. The packages screen is the revenue office's tool.

Do the included items show on the invoice?

Yes, at zero, so any stock they use still leaves the store.
