A day as the hotel's accountant

The hotel's money is already in Accounting. The accountant checks it, follows companies, records bank fees, and prepares month-end.

For Accountant

  1. Yesterday in the books

The night-audit pack lists revenue, payments by tender and balances. In Accounting, the day's receipts, refunds, invoices and credit notes are already there, dated on the business date.

  2. Cashier variances

The cashier shift report shows each shift's expected, counted and variance (Open and close a cashier shift).

  3. Bank and card

Match bank and card settlements; record the card commission when the bank settles (Reconciliation, manual match and the card terminal).

  4. Companies

Follow what companies owe in Folios › City ledger and in CRM; their payments are ordinary receipts in Accounting (Company billing and the city ledger).

  5. Products and ledgers

Ledger & product mappings › Sales ledgers of the products: give every product its own sales ledger (Services, products and sales ledgers).

  6. Guests still in house

Revenue is booked when a folio is invoiced; post interim bills for guests in house so the month's revenue is complete. The same at the end of Ashad.

  7. Numbering

Before Shrawan: the new fiscal year and every document series for it (Document numbering and the fiscal year).
