- Check the customer
The customer's credit position is on the Credit Desk (if your role has it) or on Customer 360. When in doubt, ask the credit controller to Check a sale (The Credit Desk).
- Save the sale
Save asks the credit check first. If all is well, the sale is saved. Credit warning: read it, then Continue and save (Save a credit sale: what you see).
- Three ways on
Take payment now on the invoice (a sale paid in full is never blocked), reduce the amount, or press Request credit release with a reason. A cash mark on the document alone does not help (What counts as a cash sale).
- Wait for the decision
You are notified. Credit Desk > My requests shows the status (Credit releases: ask, decide, use).
- Save again
The same sale, saved by you: Save using CRL-.... The release is used once.
- Deals and quotations
Opportunities for deals; Create quotation opens Accounting's sales quotation (Opportunities and pipelines).
Before you start
- For a large order, look at the customer's credit position first, on the Credit Desk (if your role has it) or on Customer 360 (Customer 360 and the statement of account, The Credit Desk).
- If the customer pays at the counter, take the receipt with the invoice. A cash mark on the document does not make it a cash sale (What counts as a cash sale).
End of the day
- No blocked sale is waiting without an answer: it was paid now, reduced, or has a release request on Credit Desk › My requests (Credit releases: ask, decide, use).
- An approved release is used before its end date, by you, for the one sale it was asked for (Credit releases: ask, decide, use).
- Quotations were made on Accounting's sales quotation screen, from the opportunity if the deal is in the pipeline (Opportunities and pipelines).
Common questions
Can a colleague use the release approved for my sale?
No. A release covers one sale of the person who asked for it (Credit releases: ask, decide, use).
I marked the invoice as cash. Why was it still blocked?
A cash mark on the document does not count by itself: only money received with the sale does. Take the receipt with the invoice so that the sale is paid in full (What counts as a cash sale).
