For Credit controller Manager or owner Sales staff

On this page

Open Credit Desk. The page says "Release blocked sales, watch customers over their limit and manage credit holds. Figures come from the ledger."

Who sees what

The header shows Your role:

Your roleWhenYou see
Credit approverYour role has credit approvalEverything, with Decide, Cancel, Place hold and Lift hold
View onlyYour role can see the Credit Desk, but not approveEvery tab, but you cannot decide or hold: "Your account cannot decide credit releases or holds. Ask an administrator for the credit approver role (CrmCredit.Approve). You can still view the desk."
RequesterNeither (for example a sales user)Only My requests

The Over limit / on hold and Credit position tabs also need the permission to see CRM customers (Who can use which CRM screen).

The top figures: Waiting for a decision, Approved, not yet used, Over credit limit, On credit hold. Refresh reloads everything.

Release queue

Every release request, pending first and then newest, filtered by status (Pending, Approved, Used, Rejected, Expired, Cancelled, or all) and by customer. Columns: Request, Customer, Amount, When requested, Now (the customer's figures today), Requested by, Asked, Validity / outcome. Row buttons: Decide (pending, approvers only, never your own), Cancel (pending or approved), View.

View opens the request with When it was requested (the figures the requester saw) beside Customer now (outstanding, credit limit, overdue and oldest overdue today), and the reason, the decision, the validity and the document that used it. An approved release past its end date shows Expired.

If two approvers decide the same request at once, only the first counts; the second sees "This request was decided by someone else a moment ago. Refresh to see the outcome."

My requests

Your own requests, with Cancel while they are pending or approved. Sales users land here from the notification, or from the message after asking.

Over limit / on hold

Customers Over credit limit or On credit hold: Customer, Outstanding, Credit limit, Headroom, Overdue, Hold reason, Owner, with Credit position, Place hold and Lift hold.

Credit position

Pick any customer to see their credit position from the ledger: the ledger balance, the credit limit and its action, the credit days and their action, the oldest unpaid bill, a hold, the cash customer tag, approved releases and recent requests, with Place credit hold or Lift credit hold.

Check a sale tests a sale before anyone makes it: choose Invoice or Challan, type the Sale amount, and see the outcome, the balance after, the headroom or how far over the limit it goes, and the reasons. Nothing is saved.

Common questions

My role shows View only.

Your role can see the Credit Desk but not approve. Ask an administrator for the credit approver role. You can still view every tab.

Why can I not decide a request I asked for?

A credit release must be decided by someone other than the person who asked, even if they hold credit approval.

Two approvers decided the same request.

Only the first counts. The second sees "This request was decided by someone else a moment ago. Refresh to see the outcome."
