A day as credit controller

Decide the release queue quickly, watch the customers over their limit or on hold, and keep the credit terms in Accounting right, so that only the sales that should be blocked are blocked.

For Credit controller

  1. Open My work

Credit releases waiting and the Credit desk figure show what is waiting for you (My work, the CRM dashboard).

  2. Clear the release queue

Credit Desk > Release queue > Decide: compare When it was requested with Customer now, approve an amount and an end date, or reject with a reason (Credit releases: ask, decide, use). The sales user is told and saves the sale again.

  3. Watch the customers

Over limit / on hold: who is over, by how much, and why someone is on hold. Credit position for one customer, and Check a sale to answer "can we sell them 2 lakh?" before the order is taken (The Credit Desk).

  4. Hold or lift

Place hold with a reason after a bounced cheque or a broken promise; Lift hold once the customer has paid (Credit hold). The last stage of the dunning ladder asks you to review a customer for a hold.

  5. Fix the terms

A customer blocked by a wrong Amount limit or Day limit, or by a limit of 0 with Block: have the accountant change it on the customer in Accounting, rather than approving a release each time (Customer details in Accounting that CRM uses).

  6. Review

Customers > the At risk and Over credit limit segments, and the health scores (The Customers page, health and segments).

Common questions

Does a hold lift itself when the customer pays?

No. The hold stays until a credit approver lifts it with Lift hold (Credit hold).

Why can Check a sale and the save give different answers?

Check a sale uses the balance of all branches and takes the document's days to pay as 0. The save uses the balance in the sale's branch and the invoice's own due days (The Credit Desk).
