Administration help

The screens that set a company up and decide who can do what: company details, branches, users and roles, the licence and its menus, numbering and fiscal years, notifications and SMS.

Administration is where a company is set up before anyone sells, buys or keeps accounts, and where it is kept in order afterwards. It answers four questions: what the company is (its details, its branches), who may sign in (users), what each person may open and do (roles and their permissions), and which parts of Penahak the company has (its licence and menus). Numbering series and fiscal years, the messages the system sends and the printed layouts are also set here.

This help explains each job in plain steps: where to open it, what to enter, what changes and why a rule exists. Pick your job under Who does what, or start with the short path below. Some things are not on your screens at all: the Penahak provider looks after your licence and which parts of Penahak your company has. When a menu you expect is missing, see A menu item, a tab or a screen is missing.

Most-asked questions

A user cannot sign in.

Check the message on the sign-in page, then the user's status and dates on User. See A user cannot sign in.

A menu item is missing for a user.

It is missing from the role, the role's permission is off, or the company's licence does not include it. See A menu item, a tab or a screen is missing.

A user cannot see a branch.

The user is not mapped to that branch, or the branch is inactive. See A user cannot see or choose a branch.

A new branch has no Add button on the sales screens.

A new branch has no numbering series yet. See Create and manage numbering series.

How do I start a new year?

Add the new fiscal year and its numbering series before the first day, then make the year active. See Fiscal years: create, activate and prepare the next one.

I changed a role and the user still sees the old menu.

The menu is read when the user signs in: ask the user to sign out and in. See Choose what a role may open and do.
