Room statuses
Every room carries a housekeeping status: dirty, clean, inspected, or out of order / out of service. Reception cannot check a guest into a room that is not ready, so keeping these accurate directly affects your ability to sell.
Daily flow
- Departures automatically flip to dirty after checkout.
- Housekeeping works the departure-clean list first, then daily cleans for stay-overs.
- A supervisor inspects and marks rooms inspected, which is what releases them for sale.
Minibar
Housekeeping posts minibar consumption against the room. For stock-backed items this both charges the folio and issues stock from the housekeeping store, so consumption and inventory stay in step.
Maintenance
Issues found in a room are raised as maintenance items. A room with a serious fault can be blocked:
- Out of order — unsellable and excluded from availability.
- Out of service — temporarily unavailable but still counted in inventory.
Both are recorded with a reason and a date range, so occupancy reporting is not distorted by rooms you could never have sold.
Lost and found
Items left behind are logged against the room and the stay, which makes it possible to match an item to the guest who left it when they call.
