A loyalty policy defines both how customers earn points and what a point is worth when redeemed.
The earning side
- Minimum amount for loyalty point — the spend threshold before any point is earned.
- Loyalty amount and loyalty point — the earning ratio: how many points are granted per amount spent.
- Item list — restrict earning to specific products, or leave it open to everything.
The redemption side
- Equivalent amount for point — what one point is worth when redeemed. This is the number that determines what the programme costs you.
Validity
Policies carry valid from and valid to dates in Bikram Sambat, and an active flag. Create a new policy when terms change rather than editing a running one — editing does not restate points already earned.
Mapping customers
Customers are mapped to a loyalty policy, so you can run different terms for different segments. Because the party master is shared, a customer earning at one branch can redeem at another.
Adjustments are separate
A loyalty adjustment policy governs manual point corrections — goodwill credits and the like — with its own amount, point value and validity dates. Keeping adjustments on a separate policy means genuine earning is never confused with discretionary generosity, and the two can be reported apart.
