Restaurant service in Penahak is organised around the floor map. Each table on the map has a session, and the session holds everything that happens at that table until it is settled.
Setting up the floor
Use the floor plan editor to lay out your rooms, sections and tables so the map matches the physical space. Staff should be able to find a table on screen as fast as they can point at it in the room.
A table session
Opening a table starts a session, which carries:
- The orders placed, in the sequence they were placed.
- The covers and the server assigned.
- Any splits, transfers or merges applied.
- The running bill.
Taking an order
- Select the table, then add items from the order panel.
- Send the order. Items are routed to the kitchen or bar station configured for their product group.
- Additional courses are sent as separate rounds against the same session.
Moving and splitting
Sessions can be transferred to another table, merged with another session, or split so a group can pay separately. Each of these is recorded rather than being an invisible edit.
Settling
The bill panel settles the session: cash, card, QR, wallet, or charge to a guest room folio if the diner is staying with you. Settling closes the session and posts the sale.
